ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a compassionate and community-driven Family Engagement Specialist to support children and families impacted by incarceration. This role involves coordinating family-strengthening programs, facilitating parent-child connection inside correctional facilities, and offering ongoing case management and support throughout the incarceration and reentry process.

Ideal candidates are empathetic, organized, trauma-informed, and passionate about family healing and youth empowerment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide case management, home visits, and family assessments

• Plan and lead monthly contact visits and quarterly Family Days at Allegheny County Jail

• Facilitate events, mentoring, support groups, and workshops

• Maintain regular communication with families and keep up-to-date resource referrals

• Recruit and coordinate volunteers

• Collaborate with community partners and contribute to data collection

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field (Master’s preferred)

• Experience with youth, families, or justice-impacted populations

• High cultural competency and trauma-informed care knowledge

• Must have clearances, valid PA driver’s license, and reliable transportation

• Some evenings/weekends required
